The Glass Library
The glass library of the Glass Museums Frauenau was founded by Alfons Hannes as an international and specialised library of European significance. Including fundamental works, it contains 3000 volumes in several languages about the arts and the social and technique history of glass, as well as books featuring important glass artists, glass factories and workshops, and the movements of the 20th century such as the International Studio Glass Movement and Glass Design. Also it offers outlooks towards numerous neighboring fields of study.
With voluntary engagement 2200 volumes have been catalogued up to the present time. They are integrated into the Bavarian Library Association. Scientists, artists, researchers and students may use the library in the museum or research it online. Borrowing books may possible via your interlibrary lending system.
