Modernity of the 20th Century is deeply marked by the chasms of the First and Second World Wars. Here the political history of Nationalism and National Socialism, war and expulsion, as they find their expressions in the German-Czech border regions, are confronted with a new culture of consumption and of cheap sales superstores which challenges the design movements, and which today overwhelms the hand-made glass factories.
