Light of the Renaissance
The iconoclasts and destruction of the reformation wars guide our view towards the inventive secular spirit of the Renaissance. Here the museum tour continues, following the historical route of the merchants, artists and glass blowers from the trade centre metropolis Nuremberg towards the radiating glass and merchants’ republic of Venice. In our baggage we carry the filigree glass goblets á la façon de Venise, which competed with the green “forest glass” from the Bohemian and Bavarian Forests.
