The Beginnings of Glass
The journey is introduced with the pre-history of ancient times. On a Mediterranean journey, staged with the help of ceramics, glass and sand, we follow the ways of glass through the early high cultures of Mesopotamia, Egypt, Syria, Greece and finally Rome. In this section of the museum we see how the colourful glasses and glass technologies of the near East were spread and developed on through trade, migration and war.
